Asakura was knocked out by the 45-year-old Mayweather
moments before the round's end. The southpaw attempted to stand up, but fell
short of stopping referee Kenny Bayless' count before it reached ten.
With 1:50 left in the second round, Mayweather rushed in and
connected with a right punch to knock Asakura out. Just beyond the midway point
of the second round, he also delivered a right to the body to Asakura.
40 seconds into the second round, Mayweather connected with
a right hand to knock Asakura out.
In the last minute of the opening round, Mayweather launched an attack. However, he struggled to land clean blows on Asakura and seemed to lose it.
